Intro:

Hi! Welcome to my portfolio! There’s a lot to get to know about me but let’s just start with the basic introductions. My name is Korin Griffin and I am from Haverhill, Massachusetts. I lived in the same house my entire life until I graduated high school when my parents decided to sell the house and move to Maine. That was not the ideal situation for me so I moved in with my aunt in North Reading so that I could still be close to my family and friends. While I was living in Haverhill I attended a 4 year technical high school where my shop area was Culinary Arts and Hospitality. I picked culinary my freshman year because I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my life only to discover in my sophomore year that I really wanted to be a high school English teachers. I had met some of the best English teachers/people I’ve met in my life in the first two years of high school and they really inspired me and made me realize that I want to be an english teacher too!

UNE:

When I was looking at colleges I was dead set on going to Bridgewater State University. But my parents really wanted me to tour UNE, so I did and I fell in love because I’m in love with the ocean and beaches and everything environmentally friendly. I enrolled in the Secondary Education Major going into my first year and in my spring semester I added on an English major as well, so now I am a double major in Secondary Education and English Studies.

Hobbies & Interests:

I really enjoy reading and writing (obviously as most English majors do). I also enjoy listening to lots of music, I have a pretty large collection of vinyls. Some things I like to do if I have free time are write, draw, listen to music, or binge watch the latest hits on Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ (currently watching Lost with my boyfriend). I’ve been known to have a hippie-like vibe, I really enjoy old music and old movies. I’m such a plant mom, my roommates and I all have so many plants in our dorm. I really loved plants, flowers, nature, the beach, lighthouses (the lighthouses in the pictures are from cape cod this summer and yes the red one is the famous cape cod lighthouse), etc.

Favorite books: Looking For Alaska by John Green, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Brabury, Everything, everything by Nicola Yoon, the sun and her flowers by rupi kaur.
