The main thing that I need to focus on while revising my resume is formatting. I need to play around with where my name and contact info go. The way I had it created too much white space, so I moved the objective next to it, but that made it look funky… so I have to play around with it to work out the white space later. Also some editing of font sizes and headings will benefit my final draft. I need to go over my skills and get more specific about what my skills are rather than just stating “Cashier” and “waitress”. Other than that, there’s not too much else to fix. It was interesting to see how everyone else had their resume’s set up and it gave me a few ideas for reformatting mine. Everyone’s feedback was pretty nice and helpful, which made me happy.

It’s a bit out there and some people are either going to hate it or love it, but that’s just life. I’m a colorful person, so I figured my resume should be as well. I had a little bit of a struggle differing between functional and reverse chronological format, only because parts of them look so similar. Overall though, I’d say this resume process has gone really well. I created a resume over winter break while I was applying for some jobs, so it was nice to have a little bit of a base to start off with. Though, you should have seen the original draft of the resume… it was GOD AWFUL. But I’m so thankful that I know what I’m doing now. Also, I’m the type of person to go over word count a lot (like seriously for a 5 page paper sometimes I write 10), so I’m super proud of myself for being able to cut all of my information down to fit on one page. Originally, I think my first draft was 3…
